My Younger Days 1975 - 1981

	Joe has scanned these pictures in as there was not digital photography in these days!!!  Only slides, negative and prints!!! This one is of me taken at my parents home in Watford in November 1975 – not long after I joined the QARNNS. I was stationed at  RNH Plymouth.  It is still there but sadly no longer a Royal Naval Hospital
This me when I was promoted to AHNN (Assistant Head Naval Nurse) in 1979 – oh! how I loved that Tricorn hat (I still have it in my loft).  I just love wearing it!! Unfortunately I didn’t get to wear it very often.

	These two butterfly cards were commissioned by my mum (Great Granny Nita) for her Great Grandchildren

	29th May 2009  The Christening went perfectly – the weather was gorgeous the service was lovely, Eleanor the Vicar was brilliant with the children and nearly washed us all away with the water from the font!!! there were no tears when they were baptised with the water!
We then retreated to Matt & Nicola’s the garden for tea and cake in glorious sunshine – an  altogether perfect day my only wish was that Great Granny Nita (my mum) could have been there too to share in it with us. Around 18:30 we all went for a carvery all in all it was a splendid day

Birthday Cards

	The decoration on the yellow card is Tea bag folding - I love doing it  but I’ve not done any folding for ages & I think I’ve almost forgotton how to do it – lucky for me I’ve got some instructions! lol The waistcoat is simple but it is one of my favourites for men

My Latest Creation

	Joe asked me to do a retirement card last week for a Store man who he works with – but I didn’t have time even to think about this ‘til last night and here is my creation!
The tools are brads which Tracey found whilst we were in the little craft shop in Blackpool. Many thanks Tracey – as you can see they came in very handy. All the card stock is from my stash a few peel off’s for the front by the rest is my own ingenuity :)

Blackpool Weekend May 15th – 17th 2009

	As you can see the weather was a bit over cast but there were occasional sunny spells along with a few rainy ones!!! We crafted morning, noon and night!
These photo’s were taken at about 08:30hrs Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon we took a tram ride to Fleetwood to visit a craft shop there.
	It wasn’t cold though! My room was on the top floor and was quite cosy – although I didn’t have a sea view like Debbie and Becky
A chance meeting on the sea front – I met Tracey and Jayne walking back to the hotel as I went walking towards the South Pier early Saturday morning
	A Trapezium card -  lots cutting with a craft knife which I  wasn’t very good at but now much improved after the weekend as we used craft knives alot!! Sewing also but I like sewing so I quite enjoyed these projects
One of my creations from the weekend – this was the first of a lot of decoupage – which I have never really done before – whilst I enjoyed making the whole card – decoupage is not really my thing – suffice to say this was made from scratch flat card stock with a template for the frame
	P Ann in the distance and Becky who sat next to me!!  After throwing coffee on P Ann at Derby Uni, P Ann wanted to keep her distance (only joking) but Becky became very worried so I kept my drinks off the crafting table all weekend
I learnt a lot about Copic pens during the weekend from Becky who is an ardent fan.	Copic Pens – now this is a useless bit of information – but did you know that Reams stock these as a cheaper option for Graphic Design students as the other ones recommended to them cost £5 each

I also saw a SLICE machine in action for the first time at a little craft shop near a Windmill that we visited on the Sunday afternoon.   But very close to the craft shop was a fantastic tea shop where we had a fantastic afternoon tea spread – sandwiches of your choice, home made tea bread with a slice of cheese, scone jam and cream and a pot of tea or in my case a coffee all for the princely sum of £5.95

I’m back from darkest Lincolnshire !!!!

I’ve been away for BH in my caravan with Joe to Sutton on Sea and the weather was lovely – except for late Monday afternoon when it rained.  We did have a fantastic few days – lots of walks on the beach, sitting in the sun and ‘chillin’. 

We ate great fish and chips from Waldo’s ( http://www.waldosrestaurant.co.uk/) and spent Saturday afternoon in the tea garden in the sun at Anderby Creek with friends having a few drinks!! Joe and I  didn’t realize until we were walking along the beach from Marsh Yard to Anderby Creek and received a text from our friends that the tearoom now sold alcohol!!!  So on arrival I had a cider and Joe a few beers. 

We then walked back to Marsh Yard with Lyn and Tony reminiscing about holidays taken around the area when our children were small and what fun we had all had.  In the evening we met up with Lyn and Tony again at Partney for a lovely meal at the Red Lion Pub (http://www.redlioninnpartney.co.uk/)

I did miss going to Derby Dabblers Friday night & meeting up with friends though :(  

I’ve been busy catching up looking at everyone’s blogs tonight though and everyone at DD Friday seemed to have a great time and lots of great cards etc were made by those who attended.
