Another day in paradise

Well we've been in Oz just over 3 weeks - it's been amazing and I'm so glad we came now and didn't wait until I retired!!  Today we have come into Sydney and we have booked 2 nights in a hotel so we can see Sydney at night and cut out some of the travelling.

Yesterday I went for a swim in the morning in my friends pool and the we went for lunch at their friend Pam and Wal at Revesby.  We had Pork Belly in Shiraz a Maggie Beer recipe with  mashed spuds and fresh peas and jus  Desert was Peanut butter pie another Maggie Beer recipe very rich but delicious!!!   Maggie Beer is to the Aussies as Delia Smith is to the English!!

We tried Lebanese Cuisine today for the very first time - Lamb Shawarma in the Gateway near Circular Key and it was amazing

After lunchThis we took a stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens.  There are some amazing trees and plants there.  The Frangipani bush has beautiful flowers that are very fragrant.   We walked around Farm Cove to Mrs Macquarrie's point and chair and back to the Palm Grove Centre for a flat white!!

Below Sydney Harbour Bridge & the Opera House taken from Farm Cove

On the far side of Farm Cove the Sydney Opera are doing and outdoor production of Madam Butterfly as we walked round we walked through the set - the back drop for it is the Opera House and the harbour bridge!! Although hospitality is a bit pricey a schooner of beer (330ml) is $10 and a pre production meal was $250!!!!!

Tonight we are going to walk round the Opera House to see it lit up.
