We spent a lovely day in Manly yesterday - I can see why my Mum always talked about it.  It's a lovely sea side place with lots of character & bustling with life.    It's a 30 minute ferry ride from Circular Key to Manly which is like a mini site seeing cruise as you travel through the

We took the train and light railway to Pyrmont and then caught the ferry from Darling harbour to Cicular Key.  As we left the wharf near the Martime museum there is a replica of HMS Endevour Captain Cook's ship that he 'discovered' Australia on in the late 1770's.

We then had a 30 minute ferry ride to Manly - we had just missed a ferry so just had time to have the most delicious 'gelato' the salted caramel is to die for as is ferro roche one too!!!

The view from the ferry of the harbour bridge & the Opera house is amazing!!
We spoke to a really nice guy who offered to switch his wifi on so that I could use
my I pad on the ferry.  Everyone we meet or speak to are very friendly & helpful.

Hi hope you are all well - are the children ok?  Loved the photo of you and Cameron and Emilys new glasses and cheeky Ollie with his ears!!
will try and Face time you over weekend but since the clocks gone forward in UK it's confused me lol - I will need to put alarm on to get up early lol -  hope Johnny is fine as your all missing him you'll be pleased he's back soon sorry that it didn't work out the way he'd planned it - but at least he's done it- still having a lovely time but miss you all & although the weather in UK is not the best sometimes wouldn't live anywhere else love to all Lesley x x

We stopped for lunch on the Corso and had salt & pepper calamari with green salad and a cold

We walked along the promenade on Manly beach side from the Corso to the life saving building
and walked back along the sand or in my case I paddled in the water!! The sea is much warmer than the UK!!
We then went to the Manly aquarium where we saw the Little Penguins being fed.  Followed by the Lion fish and the Seahorses.  I didn't realise that Seahorses & Little Penguins actually inhabit the sea off the coast of Sydney!!

While we were waiting to catch the ferry back to Cicular Key we sat in a lovely little cafe/bar on
Manly wharf called Hugo's Joe having a cool beer and me a lovely skinny decaf flat white!!

More wonderful photos and interesting information. :-) My hubby is a keen Manly football supporter (Rugby League, they are not a loved team).
