Taronga Zoo

Today started fairly early after getting a well deserved sleep.  Breafast consisted of sultana toast (which is delicious and appears to be a favourite in Oz) and a flat white coffee at the Gateway.

We then took a ferry from wharf to at Circular Key to Taronga Zoo.  It's built on sandstone on the north shore near Mosman.

We were fortunate to see a Tazzie - Tasmanian Devil, Koala bears, duck billed platypus, wombats and many other animals only found in Australia.  At 12 midday we went to see the Free Flight bird show.

View of Sydney from the zoo

                            Red kangaroo

                A basking kangaroo!!!!

After 5 hours our feet finally called it a day! We returned to catch the ferry via the Zoo Safari (cable car), a brief but excellent ariel view of the Zoo was a wonderful way to end our day.
