Spring is in the air!!!

Good Friday Joe and I had a slow start to the day & whilst I watched a bit of television I did the dreaded ironing.  We then popped the tip to rid ourselves of our old fridge and then to the garden centre at Swarkstone – such a lovely place.  We were looking for some plants for the front garden.  Since the hedge was replaced by a fence we’ve discovered we have at least and extra 2’ of garden so thought some shrubs would liven up liven up the fence.  .We’ve already go a Pieris to plant.  We  bought a   Myrtus Flambeau today.  It’s commonly know as a Chilean Guava – it has red berries tasting like candyfloss,  aromatic evergreen foliage and it doesn’t loose leaves in winter so just the plant for the front.

In the gales force winds we had earlier in the year my azalea of several years was just snapped off at the base so we’ve bought another to replace it.

After shopping we had a late lunch sat out in the warm sunshine – it was truly delightful.

Above is a simple card that I made a a sample for a craft class several weeks ago using washi tape as an addition to some stamping – very simple to do but I feel quite effective.

That first plant sounds really interesting especially with the berries tasting like fairy floss. Lovely card.
