Wet Wet Wet!!

Well how wet was Saturday?  I went off to Stoke with my friends to the shopping village at Trentham Gardens at Stoke and although it rained on a off for most of the day we had a really lovely day popping in the shops plus a lovely lunch in the garden centre there.   When we arrived back in Derby it looked as though it had been hit by a monsoon!!!  There had been quite a few minor floods and we drove through one quite deep floods near Valley Road opposite the park and we could see that water was lapping around the door of a house in the vicinity.  My friends who lives in Oakwood phoned me when she got home as it took her over an hour to do a 10 minute journey from my house to hers due to flooding and there had been some subsidence on Bishops Drive in Oakwood!!  We went out last night to meet friends and drove through a foot deep flood outside Breadsall Priory and that was 4 hours after the rain had stopped.

But yesterday and today the sun is shining and everything has dried out.

Yesterday afternoon I went off to Eileen’s 70th birthday bash at Smalley, her actually birthday was Thursday and this is the card I made for her.   I spent a wonderful afternoon with friends sat in the garden chatting about caravanning, holidays and generally making the most of life.
