A Selection of Christmas Cards

I’ve not done much embossing but I thought I would have a ‘play’ and these were some of my creations.

I did these the weekend before I went to France.

I’ve got a retirement card to complete before tonight as a colleague is retiring after ‘loads of years in the business’ and we are off to a French restaurant in Derby.

I’ve got to go in the loft and retrieve an Xmas tree for Samantha & Ash to use in her new home (I’m such a hoarder)  But whilst I’m up there Joe and I are going to do some more de cluttering so that will involve trips to the ‘tip’ and charity shops!!!!

have a great weekend – I will :)

Carcassonne Southern France

Hi all,

I’ve just returned from a glorious week in Southern France. We had a fantastic 2 bedroom very old ‘mid terrace’ house 10 minutes walk from the Cite. It had been fully modernised to a high level, 2 bathrooms, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. As state of the art hob for which you needed a degree to work it :) A roof terrace which we sat out on quite a lot in the evening having the odd drink of wine!! The weather was lovely. Sunny and warm – the others wore there coats most days, but me I was ok with a cardigan most of the time. The town of Bastide St Louis was about 15 minutes walk away over the River Aude via the ‘Pont Vieux’

We flew by Ryanair (cheap flights £20 return each). We only took 10kg of cabin
baggage per person. I was a little apprehensive at first but it was a surprise to me just how much clothing etc we took and we were way under our wt limit & we took plenty, even a hair dryer, plus tea bags for Joe & books!!

Day of arrival having dropped our bags off we took a walk to the old Cite and for a visit to a bar/cafe for a drink & a ‘sandwich’

Women at work planning the day!! Helped along with a glass of wine/cidre.

I can highly recommend this a place for a short break – lots to do, plenty of places to eat covering all budgets. Sunday we went to the ‘Terminus’ hotel and had a great 3 course meal for 13.50 euro’s each – wine was extra.

95th Birthday Card

I was asked to make a card for a lady who will be 95 at her next birthday and who had been like a 2nd Mum.  The theme was floral.  This is what I came up with & I‘m really pleased with it and so was my friend.

I’m off to McArthur Glenn later with Joe to return a pair of Clark’s shoes that I bought for him at Cheshire Oaks last weekend lol!!  1 pair was fine the other too big!! Then off to see Tracey late this afternoon for a coffee (must call her and let her know) followed by an evening crafting at home:)

Tomorrow having family for dinner so it will be a full house at ours!!  Think I’m gong to do roast beef with all the trimmings.

have a great week end all of you in blog land

Christmas Card Make

I’m way behind with my Christmas cards as my life is so busy there are just not enough hours in the day and when I’ve been at work all I seem to want to do in the evening is sit down relax.  So I thought I ought to have a but of a concerted effort to start making a few only made 3 on Sunday evening but have now got some great ideas for them :)

‘Angel’ Chloe

IMG_4462

I made this card ‘cause I could :)   I love the DCWV Posie paper shame I only have one sheet!!  But I’ve got enough left to make one more  card with it.  I’ve not used this stamp much from  the Greeting Farm and I’m still getting the hang of using pencils and Sansador as a colouring  medium.

have a good day all you blogger’s I’m off to work in a bit

thanks for stopping by and looking at my blog and please feel free to leave a comment

SU ‘Take and Make’ or is it ‘Make and take’

I spent a good couple of hours last Saturday afternoon at Tracey’s making cards.   There was great company, tea and coffee and cup cakes with glitter on what more could you ask for!!!

I had to leave just after 3:30 & I hadn’t made half the cards that were there to make :( – but I did take the sheet for making the anniversary card as I have the stamp set used for it at home and the colours were so vibrant I just couldn’t resist.

It was lovely catching up with people who I’d not seen for ages.  The  Dabblers crafty evenings have clashed with other  long  standing engagements.

I think this elephant card looks lovely with the elephant decoupaged in bashful blue matching the colour of one of the pieces of matting.

Elegant egg plant really suits this stamp – it also looks great in back and white & navy and white too!

Well it’s back to work,  but roll on next weekend.  I’m off to Cheshire Oaks Friday  on a retail therapy shopping spree with Samantha.  We did it last year in November and had such a great time decided to do it again.

Sunday is Remembrance Sunday so Saturday night I shall be watching the Albert Hall Ceremony & Sunday I shall be at the parade in Spondon

‘Animal Stories’ & In the Pink - PPA14 and BLOG CANDY

I made this card for Immogen’s first birthday using the Animal Stories SU stamps set. The background paper is SU also but not sure which set

IMG_4483

When I first saw this set in the new SU catalogue I thought it was definitely not a stamp set for me – but having made this card I think I might have a go at some more cards as I think it had great potential :). Of to make some Xmas cards this afternoon

I've also entered this card in a challenge over at http://www.palspaperarts.com/2009/10/ppa14.html
